1. Taiwanese manufacturer Rongchuang went public
Rongchuang was listed on July 9, 2014. Its net profit per share for 2013 was 5.29 yuan, ranking first among LED manufacturers. After Rongchuang goes public, LED profit-making Wang Yiguang will be threatened. The legal person estimates that Everlight's net earnings per share in 2014 are expected to start from 5 yuan (NT$, the same below), and Rongchuang has the strength of 6 yuan.
2. On the first day of listing, the market value of Mulinsen ranked first among its packaging peers
On February 17, 2015, Mulinsen shares were officially listed. As of the close of the day, Mulinsen closed the daily limit of 30.96 yuan per share, an increase of 44%, with a trading volume of 58,700 yuan and a market value of 13.762 billion yuan, ranking first among its packaging peers. This indicates that Mulinsen will increase its weight in competing with global packaging giants after its listing.
3. Furi Electronics acquires Yuanlei Technology
Furi Electronics announced on the evening of August 22, 2014 that it signed a "Letter of Intent for Equity Acquisition" with the shareholders of Shenzhen Yuanlei Technology Co., Ltd. on August 21, and planned to hold 51% of the equity of Yuanlei Technology through acquisition and capital increase. 4. Taiwanese factory Lextar expands production and locks packaging in 2014
Lextar announced on August 5, 2014 that its July revenue reached a record high of 1.41 billion yuan (NT$, the same below, equivalent to RMB 289 million) for the second consecutive month, an increase of 4.4% from June and an annual increase of 7.2%. Lextar's expansion in 2014 targeted downstream packaging, with production capacity expected to increase by 30%. Capital expenditures fell between RMB 1.8 and 2 billion (equivalent to RMB 369 to RMB 410 million), and the scale of investment surpassed that of leading manufacturer Everlight.
5. Zhaochi Co., Ltd.’s subsidiary has added 100 LED packaging lines
Zhaochi Co., Ltd. announced on December 2, 2014 that its subsidiary Nanchang Zhaochi production base has a total investment of 500 million yuan and added 200 LED packaging lines and 10 LED lighting lines. Currently, 100 packaging lines have been added. Production capacity will be gradually increased based on personnel recruitment and orders. After the 100 packaging production lines are put into production, the scale of LED will be significantly increased.
6. Everlight is looking for a location to build a new LED packaging factory
In early 2015, Everlight plans to start a major expansion of production in Taiwan and find a location to expand a new LED packaging factory. It will invest 10 billion yuan from 2015 to 2017. The new factory is planned to be put into operation in 2016. The industry interprets Everlight's huge production expansion plan as being optimistic about the long-term demand for LED lighting, and believes that Everlight may have secured relatively clear orders before launching large-scale production expansion.
7. Hongli Optoelectronics invested 1 billion to build Nanchang LED Industry Base
On September 5, 2014, Hongli Optoelectronics announced that it would invest in the construction of an LED industry base in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It had acquired 300 acres of land to invest in the construction of an LED industry base, and reserved 300 acres for a three-year reservation period. The project plans to invest 1.009 billion yuan. After the project reaches full production, it is expected to achieve an average annual operating income of 1,583.7486 million yuan and an average annual net profit of 109.19 million yuan.
8. Domestic LED packaging output value will reach 56.8 billion yuan in 2015
The packaging market in 2014 will also maintain steady growth. Compared with the 47.3 billion output value in 2013, the domestic LED packaging output value in 2015 is expected to reach 56.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19%. Relative to the growth of market output value, packaging technology is also maturing. Flip-chip structure COB, COF technology, and integrated packaged optical engines have become the focus of manufacturers.
9. China’s mainstream LED product packaging quotations dropped by 17%
According to a survey, LED packaging quotations continued to decline in the second quarter of 2015. LED 2835 is mainly a mainstream product in the lighting market in mainland China, and the decline rate is far greater than that of other lighting packaging products, reaching 10%-17%. As household and commercial LED lighting continues to grow, the lighting share of packaged LEDs will reach 45% of total revenue in 2019, still maintaining an upward trend.
10. Mulinsen invested 21 million yuan to establish three lighting subsidiaries
On May 20, 2015, packaging manufacturer Mulinsen announced that it invested 1 million yuan, 10 million yuan, and 10 million yuan to set up a global lighting subsidiary in Guangxi respectively. 11. Nationstar controls Yaweilang for 76.5 million yuan to strengthen its LED chip business layout
On June 4, 2015, Nationstar Optoelectronics issued an announcement that the company controlled Yaweilang for 76.5 million yuan.
